Weigh In Monday – 8th June 2015

Hi guys,

Just a quick one today. Weighed in yesterday morning at 15 stone 5.5lbs which means a 2.5lbs loss! I went for dinner with a friend last night instead of Wednesday so although I was still within daily and weekly points I feel a bit heavier today but I shan’t be touching the scales until next week!

I’m definitely starting to feel like I’m getting used to counting and it feels almost natural to me now. It’s just a little frustrating sometimes when some items are not in the database and as a lot of Asian foods don’t have the nutritional values on the product, it’s hard to work out. There has been a lot of guesstimation this week though I feel I have overestimated to be safe. What do you guys think?

Until next time.. x

Weigh In Tuesday – 02.05.15

Hi guys,

So after much thought I decided I wasn’t too keen on the meetings I’ve been to and what with trying to save money for a house deposit, I’ve decided to switch to just e-source and weigh in at home. Monthly pass costs £21.45/month and e-source is £15 for 3 months and as I feel that’s pretty much the more important part I need, it’ll be better for me as well as saving me around £16 a month.

Anyhow, I weighed in today at 15 stone 8lbs! A loss of 2lbs. Considering that consisted of a lot of pizza, I’m pretty happy with that. Going to try and not have so much junk and carbs this week though…

Until next time.. x

Return to Blogging/Change of Plan

Hi guys,

Not sure if anyone’s around to carry on reading posts, but I’m here! Sorry for the prolonged absence. As you know I was going through a very difficult few months and I just felt totally overwhelmed. Unfortunately, something had to give, and that just happened to be blogging and generally looking after myself. So, I am kind of fresh back from my holidays, where I ate a lot of food. Fortunately I didn’t put any weight on (it was Florida after all!). Unfortunately I put a bunch of weight on before I went.

So, I’m back, ready to get back into it. I have decided to have a little change though. I decided to join Weightwatchers as I kept going off the rails a bit with Slimming World and thought I could do with a bit more structure to kick myself back into gear. I have to admit that I didn’t have great first impressions at group and the first week was a big mess. This week has been exam week and so I’ve not been counting (Daily PPs: 34, Weekly: 49) but doing WW’s version of SW – filling and healthy. Though I did have a moment the day before the exam and went to Mcdonalds >.< Well, Rome wasn't built in a day I suppose.

I weighed in on 11th May at 15 stone 12lbs. My last weigh in was 18th May and I lost 2lbs (though I had only really been counting for about 3 days due to a massive feck up online). This week isn't boding too well at the moment but my exam was yesterday and I'm going to make sure the rest of this week is up to scratch.

Although I'll be following WW for the foreseeable future (unless something goes horribly wrong or I just decide to go back to SW), I hope you'll carry on following my journey. I will be blogging my food once again and hopefully will be able to squeeze a few shopping posts in. At the end of the day, I feel that WW and SW are fairly similar in that they both advocate healthy eating and so far, it just seems (in my eyes) that WW is more controlled in regards to portion size and at this moment in time, I think that's what I need. I'm sure my food will still largely resemble a SW diet so hopefully you'll get some inspiration and just double check it's SW friendly 🙂

OK, so I think that's all for now.

Until next time.. x

Weigh In Monday

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is well. Been a busy day today running around doing the food shop, trying to organise my bedroom (a two-day task in itself!) amongst other things.

Anyhow was super happy at weigh in today. I weighed in at 15 stone 2.5lbs, meaning a 4lb loss this week! Really happy after the blip last week and it means that I’m only 2.5lbs to my 1 stone award and I hope that I get it next week despite eating out a couple of times in the next few days.

I’m really motivated for the next week. I’m definitely hoping I can keep up the momentum and getting to my target around wedding time 🙂

Until next time.. x

Tuesday Thoughts & Wednesday Weigh In

Hi guys,

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday. By the time I had finished college and came home I was absolutely shattered so didn’t get a chance to blog.

It’s weigh in day today and I’m feeling quite positive. My meal plan (as you will see) has been thrown out of the window a bit. I’m eating SW (more EE days as I’m craving carbs as it’s so ridiculously cold at the moment!) but just whatever is quick and to hand. I think despite the more frequent EE days, I have had a loss but we’ll see. I’m kind of really hoping for 3lbs as that means half of the weight I put on during Christmas and New Year is gone and I can get back on track.

In general I’ve been feeling better. The headaches and bloatedness have mostly gone. I’m still drinking around 3L of water and feeling a bit better for it. I think maybe in the upcoming week I will focus more on EE days as at the moment I’m just craving roast new potatoes and corn on the cob.

Oh, I did have dinner out with my sister on Monday night. She’s currently trying to move out of my parents’ house and getting all stressed out so we went out for pizza (*shakes head*) – next time I’m choosing the restaurant! The food was really good though and I tried to stay vaguely healthy by having a veggie pizza with a thin crust and lighter cheese though I’m not sure if that made too much of a difference.

I’ve also enjoyed walking quite a bit this week. My feet aren’t hurting too much and although I’m achey it doesn’t seem as bad as it was. I’m starting to speed up a bit too – I think I’ve managed to shave at least 5 minutes off my walk home so trying to stay positive with the little victories.

Weigh In Wednesday
So I’m very happy with weigh in this week. I weighed in at 15 stone 6lbs so a 3lb loss! Definitely feel like I’m back on track now 🙂 Here’s to a good week next week 👍

Until next time.. x

Weigh In Saturday (13th Dec)

Hi guys,

Just a quick one today! I just weighed in this morning and was expecting possibly a small gain, a maintain at the most with the awful week I’ve had. I’m thoroughly surprised to have weighed in at 15 stone 4lbs which means I’ve lost 1.5lbs!

Part of this I think is the different weigh in times (morning rather than evening) so I’m not super excited yet as I’m going to my usual weigh in on Wednesday so I’ll see what the damage is there. I think I’d be happy with 1lb loss *fingers crossed*

After Wednesday there’s only one more weigh in until Christmas. I don’t think I’ll quite meet my goal of hitting my 1 stone but I think if I manage to keep to plan I think I’m going to get very close! 🙂

Until next time.. x

Weigh In Wednesday & Early Christmas Present off OH

So before the meal with my OH and friends, I popped to weigh in. My consultant was so poorly bless her and she still made it but as she lost her voice, I don’t think I missed much! As it was only 4 days since my previous weigh in, I was a bit nervous that I would just maintain or have a teeny tiny half lb off. I was really happy as I weighed in at 15 stone 5.5lbs and lost a lb which makes 5lbs in 4 weeks, which isn’t too bad for me. I’m just surprised I’m still losing as usually I would have had a small gain by now or maintained. I picked up my half stone award whilst I was at group and I’m hoping for a 1 or 2 lb loss next week. I really want to try and hit 15 stone by Christmas and although I have about 10 meals out with friends planned I really want to hit it. I would like to start the new year in the 14 stone range BUT I am hosting a Christmas meal for friends which I’m letting myself have the day to not worry about food too much, so that might not happen! I’ll have that in the back of my mind though so hopefully it will curb myself not to go crazy. That, or the non stop cooking will make me not hungry!

2014-11-30 19.58.56

As an early Christmas present, my OH took me to Sweatshop on Sunday 🙂 I have really flat feet and walking more than a mile in normal shoes kills my feet and they just can’t cope with insoles. My friend had visited Sweatshop and came back raving about them so when OH was asking what he could get me for Christmas, I really wanted to go. The guy at the shop was super nice. I didn’t run on the treadmill tester as you would usually as the fact I was flat footed and also had wide feet ruled out several brands and types of trainers.

I ended up plumping for these Mizuno Wave Inspire 10 in white/blue/green. They cost a fair bit – £105! – but I have been walking non stop in them since Monday and at the moment I absolutely love them. I’ve not had any foot pain so far which is just amazing. I’m going to walk to work and back on Friday (2.2 miles each way) so that will be the real test. The reason why I wasn’t too fazed about OH spending this on me (which usually I’d object to) was that Sweatshop have a 30 day return policy so you can test your shoes OUTSIDE and still bring them back if they’re not right. You have to have some guidance in buying the shoes (i.e. you can’t pick them up yourself and assume they’ll do and return them) but I think that’s really good. Many trainers I’ve had before have been OK until I stepped outside on normal terrain and then killed my feet 😦

I’ll probably give another little update the more I use them, so look out for that.

Apologies for the ultra long post. I’ll sign off for now 🙂

Until next time.. x

Weigh In Saturday

So I weighed in on a Saturday this week. It’s been a mental week and with all my evenings being taken up Saturday morning was the nearest and most convenient. I prefer being weighed in the morning but the morning groups are so busy I never feel inclined to stay 😦 The quieter evening groups are more my thing I think.

But yes, last time I weighed in I was a half lb off my half stone award. Well guess what – I made it! 1 lb off! Finally! I really want to carry on the momentum so I’m going to try and be really good this week and not deviate too much. As I weighed in on Saturday, my next weigh in is Wednesday so I don’t think I’ll lose too much weight between now and then. I would like another lb off though… I just need to make sure I don’t go anywhere with my Mum – she’s a bad influence!

Until next time.. x

Tuesday & Wednesday Round Up AND Weigh In Wednesday

Hi guys,

Sorry these posts are late! My cough has gone a lot worse so I’ve been nursing a severe headache, chest and abdomen along with my cough 😦 It has also meant that I’m succumbing to snacks here and there which are a bit “syn-ful”.

Tuesday Meals

Midnight snack: 2 x Haribo treat bags (9) (not pictured!)

2014-11-13 12.49.362014-11-13 12.50.17
Breakfast: bacon x3, 2 fried eggs, spinach, mushrooms, spicy beans

Snack: boiled egg

Lunch HM lasagne (HEA & 1 syn)

Snack: pear, 2x miniature heroes (5)

Pre-College: 2 slices of 400g wholemeal bread with ham, beetroot, pickled cucumber, tomatoes, cucumber

College: coffee with milk (1 syn) and a bag of 55g skittles (11 syns) – no photo as my friend binned it before I could get a chance to get a snap!

Post-college: leftover roast lamb shank with SW roast potatoes, swede, broccoli, carrots and mint sauce (1 syn)

Total Syns: 28
Remaining: 24

Wednesday Meals

2014-11-13 12.47.36

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs, spinach, mushrooms, Heck chicken burger (1 syn) and spicy spaghetti strands

Lunch: chicken & sweetcorn soup (0.5 syn) with two of the three boiled eggs

Dinner: chicken shish kebab (6 syns for oil) with salad and a pita bread (10 syns)

Total syns: 17.5

Remaining: 6.5

So I went along to weigh in on Wednesday. I didn’t manage to each much during the day as I was so busy with work but because of my cough I was drinking so much water (I think I went through 3 or 4 litres) all the way up to weigh in so I think some of that may be water retention! Anyhow, I weighed in at 15 stone 7.5 lbs – 3 lbs off! So close to my first half stone certificate (1/2 lb) so even though I’m in London this weekend, I really really hope that I can get that next week 🙂

Thoughts on this week: Food-wise it’s not been that bad. I seemed to struggle in the couple of days before weigh in and really randomly just craved sweets so bad! I don’t normally have too much of a sweet tooth so it was a bit weird! I think being ill hasn’t made this week as successful as it could have been as I succumbed a few times (though always within my syns) but I’m hoping it’ll clear up soon as I’m sat here feeling like utter rubbish! I think next week may be a struggle with being away from home for three days but I will be doing flexi-syns again this week and hopefully I’ll be able to minimise the damage!

Until next time.. x
