Goals for August 2016

Hi guys,

Yep, I know there’s just about 3 weeks of August left! I’m a bit slow on the blogging side as I had a heavy work week but that’s no excuse, right?

So! August goals. I have a few meals out & a visit to Newcastle to see one of my school friends I haven’t seen in around a decade as well as our usual family meal out on the bank holiday Monday at the end of the month. I’m not expecting miracles but I’m hoping to lose at least 4lbs. I’ve been sitting pretty at 14st 12lb since the beginning of August which I’m happy with as I’ve eaten so bad recently but we need to get a shimmy on now!

Goals

  • Lose 4lbs by 31st August
  • No juice, no fizzy drinks – just 2-3L of pure H20
  • Try walking home at least once a week (will be a struggle with hayfever and heavy work bags but we’ll try!)
  • Draw up a monthly budget for September and update bank totals
  • Start planning my next adventure away

I’ll give you a goal update at the end of the month. Hopefully I’ll hit them all 🙂

The Last Start-Over

Hi guys,

It’s been a long time. Hope you’re all well! I’m finally back (again!), hopefully for the last time. It’s been a horrible few months culminating with my ex attempting suicide and my Uncle passing last week.

However, it has taught me that life is short. Goals I want to achieve, I need to stop putting off as time flies by so quickly. So I am back, motivated and am going to try my hardest to get to my goal weight. The closest I’ve gotten in the past few months is 14st 2lb when I was seriously ill and hadn’t eaten for about 2 weeks and I’ve just returned from Hong Kong after my Uncle’s passing at 15st 5lb. I will be back on smart points on WeightWatchers so hopefully I’ll finally get my brain into gear and get my losses piling up.

I started off yesterday with a good day but today I’ve been feeling a little sluggish and not really wanting to drink much liquid which isn’t good. I’ve gone over my points slightly as I couldn’t resist a bowl of ramen (the one from the Fire Noodle Challenge on YouTube.. delicious!) but nothing that has taken me totally off the rails.

My Uncle’s funeral is next week so I think I would like to set myself a 2lb target. I’ve been really struggling with my energy levels (also possibly in part due to jet lag) so if you have any good tips to feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed; let me know!

Weigh in Friday

Hi guys,

As you know I’ve been eating like a horse the first two-thirds of the week so it’s not a surprise I didn’t lose this week. However, the big surprise was that I didn’t gain! Who would have thought it? A maintain. Fifteen stone exactly.

So I’m here still on the precipice of fourteen stone. I really really want to get there. This weekend is a bit of a write off as I will be in Scotland with my sister who eats every two hours (she’s a growing child) and so as much as I will try not to cave in, I will (try) and set an example of healthy eating instead. (I may regret this when it comes to my food posts on Instagram in a day or so…..)

However, after said weekend I’m going to try and be 100%. I’ve not had a 100% day for a while now so I’m going to have my juices and possible small snacks of either green vegetables or lean protein (if really needed) and a small meal in the evening.

Ideally, 3lbs off next week will be very nice. On the other hand, I think I’m losing inches as my watch has started spinning round my wrist like a small catherine wheel. Next week I’ll do measurements as well and see where I am. I think the last time I measured myself was back in December so at least if it’s now showing on the scales maybe it’s showing physically.

Pre-Weigh In Thoughts

Hi guys,

Well, I will tell you now that if I have a maintain, I will be very happy with that!

Chinese New Year has just been so as is tradition, I have eaten aplenty and although my pants aren’t digging in, I definitely feel a little more rotund than usual! I’ve been back on the wagon since Wednesday but not much damage control there I’m afraid!

I start my juice diet today and hopefully day 1 won’t be too bad. I’ve decided to make it similar to step 2 on Cambridge so I will be doing my juices and a small meal in the evening.

(Un)fortunately back in November, I booked a trip to Stirling for this weekend so I’m not sure how it’s going to work! I think there will be a couple more meals here and there during the Sunday and Monday I’m away (plus snacks for the 4 hour drive!) but then I’ll be back on track.

Target for this week: maintain.
Target for next week: -1lb

Pre-Weigh In Thoughts + Re-strategising

Hi guys,

This week has been terrible. I’m not going to come up with a load of excuses but basically I fell off the wagon immensely. I definitely need to get my mind into gear and focus on what I’m aiming for. I definitely think I’m up for a gain (again!) this week. I’m going to re-strategise and I’ve decided that I’m going to point for the first half of the week and do filling and healthy for the second half. I’m really struggling with the weekends at the minute and I just go totally overboard. I think if I do F&H at least it will give me a little flexibility whilst hopefully getting me to eat the right thing rather than endless junk and then going over my points!

My aim for last week was to work on my sleeping pattern – major fail there. I’m going to try extra hard this week. Also OH has politely asked me to clear the freezer and cupboards so I’m going to try and forego my weekly shop (big emphasis on try) and use bits I already have. I’m not sure how well that’s going to work for fresh fruit and veg but I do have some frozen I think and some bits left over from my veg box. We shall see.

Weigh In Tuesday – 2lb on :(

Hi guys,

Weighed in this morning at 15st 4.75 lbs meaning a 2lb weight gain. I kind of saw it coming towards the end of the week as my sleeping pattern has gone haywire with my hayfever and some stressful family stuff going on. I’ve not necessarily been having extra meals when surviving on 3 hours sleep but I think during meal times my appetite has grown this week and I’ve not been drinking anywhere near enough water and overindulging on Pepsi Max’s in an attempt to stay awake during the day.

It’s ok though. Although my sleeping pattern isn’t quite back on track yet I’m going to try really hard to get my water intake up again and make sure I’m taking all my medication (I keep forgetting the odd one here and there and they seem to have an effect on water retention). Minimum 2.5L and I need to start exercising again rather than being lazy and taking my car everywhere which is the case at the minute! I will let you know how I get on!

Weigh In Monday – 8th June 2015

Hi guys,

Just a quick one today. Weighed in yesterday morning at 15 stone 5.5lbs which means a 2.5lbs loss! I went for dinner with a friend last night instead of Wednesday so although I was still within daily and weekly points I feel a bit heavier today but I shan’t be touching the scales until next week!

I’m definitely starting to feel like I’m getting used to counting and it feels almost natural to me now. It’s just a little frustrating sometimes when some items are not in the database and as a lot of Asian foods don’t have the nutritional values on the product, it’s hard to work out. There has been a lot of guesstimation this week though I feel I have overestimated to be safe. What do you guys think?
