Food Shop – 26.05.15

Hi guys,

As promised, here’s my food shop from last night. I was a tad over budget (I bought a few things for next week – not sure why!) so I decided I’m going to alter my meals a bit for this week. Instead of KFC on Friday, I’m just going to replicate Monday’s treat dinner so I don’t have to spend any more money this week 🙂 and I forgot to freeze my curry so I’m just using some other stuff I have on hand for a couple of lunches instead.

2015-05-26 21.20.01

Fruit and veg: clementines, mushrooms, 2x strawberries, gala apples, carrots, new potatoes, sweet potatoes, honey dew melon and nectarines

2015-05-26 21.25.56

Everything else: French Fries multipack (2pp/pack), tin of sliced peaches in juice, tin of fruit salad in juice, wafer thin honey roast ham (1pp for 35g), 2x mini cravings cheese (0pp for 1, 1pp for 2 or 3), laughing cow extra light triangles (1pp each), 2x lean corned beef (10pp/tin), pack of 3 houmous stackers (3pp for 35g) crumpets (3pp each or 5pp for two), bacon medallions (1pp each), brown sandwich thins (3pp each), bagel thins (3pp each), Ryvita original (1pp each), mini meringue nests (3 for 1pp), 2x Dairy Milk Oat Crunch (4pp/bar) and Morrisons milk chocolate rice slices (1pp each).

I also bought a pack of frozen peas (2pp for 80g), frozen mediterranean vegetables (aubergine, courgettes and peppers – 0pp) and a pack of 2 Chicago Town deep dish four cheese pizzas (12pp each) which I forgot to photograph as they were defrosting pretty quick when I got home! My total was £42.50 which would have hit my target if I didn’t buy so much cheese or the corned beef or any of the treats >.<

Anyway, it’s still quite a bit less than normal and I shall refrain from any “top up” shops throughout the week!

Until next time.. x

Food Shopping – Morrisons/Waitrose – 10th Jan

Hi guys,

Hope you’re well! Here is my post on food shopping this week. It should coincide with my meal plan which was posted yesterday but I went into Waitrose for 10% lamb mince and they didn’t have any but I got distracted and got a few bits as “I was already there”. I’ll be getting some clementines from Aldi tomorrow (£3-4 for a box) as they do the sweetest ones at the moment and I can kill 2 birds with one stone and pick up my prescription as well 🙂

2015-01-10 20.29.42

Fruit and veg: baby potatoes x2, carrots x2, large papaya, conference pears x2, strawberries x2, spinach, celery x2, spring onion, mushrooms, ginger, small pack of bananas, parsley, tarragon, tender stem broccoli, baby corn, leeks, sweetheart cabbage, mangetout, lettuce and onions.

2015-01-10 20.41.43

Everything else: 10pk eggs x2, seafood sticks, sliced ham x2, whole chicken x2, firm tofu, Ryvita Original, Laughing Cow extra light triangles x3, mullerlight yoghurts x4, unsmoked gammon steak, filo pastry (6 syns/sheet), lamb Oxo cubes, mackerel in spicy tomato sauce x2, onion granules. I just realised I forgot to show my Waitrose stuff – I got 6 bags of Popchips (5 syns/25g), fat free raspberry vinaigrette (not sure on syns as of yet but it’s only 9 cals/tbsp) and Kraft light thousand island dressing (half syn/tablespoon) which I’ve been looking for everywhere.

The pop chips were on offer at 99p a bag of 80g I think so I’ve separated it out in 25g mini bags so I don’t overeat (as I did today absentmindedly whilst trying to prepare dinner! Luckily I hadn’t had any syns yet.) They’re so full of flavour as well so thought it was a bit of a bargain. Randomly picked up some gammon steaks for some point in the future and got some extra Ryvita so I don’t have to ferry the pack to and from work. Also picked up the mackerel as it was on offer (it’s so expensive now!). My papaya was a bit expensive at £3.99 (!) but I haven’t had one in so long, plus it’s a speed food, so yeah. I think I need more willpower in general!

Waitrose total: £9.12, Morrisons total: £59.50. Total: £68.62. This week seems very expensive >.< I think some cutbacks may be in order for next week!

Until next time.. x

Food Shopping – Morrisons 04.01.15

Hi guys,

Here’s my food shopping post as promised. I went to Morrison’s yesterday as I had my £5 voucher I collected just before Christmas and wanted to get it used up. I also stocked up on a few bits and pieces so this shop was a bit higher. I think I will need to do a tiny top up shop mid-week though as when I went there was no beef mince so I am currently missing the main part of my cottage pie.

2015-01-04 16.08.16

Fruit & Veg: packet of frozen peas, family pack of mushrooms, 2 punnets of strawberries, a head of sweetheart cabbage, a bag of sweet pears, two bags of carrots, a head of broccoli, head of celery, swede, mangetout/baby corn pack, onions, red onions, dwarf beans and smoked garlic.

2015-01-04 16.16.01

Chilled items: 10pk of eggs, low fat cottage cheese, 2 packs of beef shin, honey roast ham, chicken pieces, 3 packs of salmon, plain quark, Philadelphia Lightest, Laughing Cow extra light, Mexican jalapeno houmous (2.5 syns/tbsp), Sundried tomato and basil houmous (2.5 syns/tbsp)

2015-01-04 16.18.54

Everything else: 4 pack of baked beans, Ryvita original (4 – HEB), wholemeal rolls (1 – HEB), multipack of hula hoops (24g pack – 6 syns), Jelly Tots (42g pack – 7.5 syns), Kinder Chocolate (12.5g bar – 3.5 syns) and Strawberry Straws (25g – 1/3 pack – 4.5 syns)

So yeah I felt like treating myself to some sweet stuff just to keep the edge off! The jelly tots bags are quite big so as I don’t want a massive sugar rush I will be halving the bags as that’s more than enough for a sweet treat.

My shopping came to a total of £55.12 before my voucher and £50.12 after. I would have saved a little bit if they had the mince I wanted on the 3 for £10 offer but I did turn up quite late on Sunday afternoon so it’s more my fault than anything! Also OH came with me which means I spent less time trying to make sure I had the best deal as food shopping with him is like taking a toddler sometimes. He always prefer a straight in and out but I have to make sure I have everything! So I think next week’s shopping will be a little better when I’m not being rushed 🙂

Until next time.. x

Food Shopping – Morrisons (13th Dec)

Hi guys,

Just a quick food shop update today. I spent a little more as I got a few things for OH’s Christmas snack box which isn’t on the list but I thought I’d mention it anyway. Total including all the snacks for him was £53.17 but I’ll update you on the total below.

2014-12-13 20.09.39

Excuse the table weirdness in the middle – I ended up taking a panorama so I could fit everything in 🙂

Fruit and veg: mini corn on the cob, massive papaya, onions, baby spinach, tender stem broccoli, clementines, strawberries, bananas, baby potatoes, parsley, cucumber, leek, sweet potato, tomatoes, radishes

Everything else: Cathedral city mature selection bag, 2 Cathedral City vintage cheddars (on offer), sliced ham, pickled beetroot, Philadelphia Light with mediterranean tomatoes, cheese stick, jalapeño hummus, onion and garlic dip, low fat thousand island dressing, can of chickpeas, jalapeño coleslaw, value coleslaw, tarragon, bacon.

Total: £54.83 – £1.66 offers = £53.17 – £12.12  = £41.05

I don’t think the total would have been that high if I hadn’t lost it half way through and smelt the bread! Meant I bought a few things which were off plan and totally random! Also stocked up on my favourite Cathedral City vintage cheddar as it was only £2 a block and BBD was March 2015 so it’ll last a couple of months! Mental note for last time – STICK TO THE LIST!

Also picked up my first £5 voucher on the Morrisons Match & More Card – I think I’ve been shopping three times to get it and collected on my fourth shop so will be using that probably just after Christmas (voucher expiry is a year later so plenty of time to use it!) as I plan on using the £15 off a £60 shop at Aldi to get all my Christmas shopping in later this week.

So until next time.. x

Food Shopping – Morrisons

Hi guys,

Hope you’re all well! It’s that time of the week again and I popped to Morrisons as I’m currently taking full advantage of their Match and More card. My shopping today took me to my first £5 voucher which I’ll be collecting on my next shop. I’m really surprised at myself today as I didn’t get much at all. Saying that though, I decided on lugging a basket around and it was full to the brim! One deal that really caught my eye though, was that Morrisons are currently doing 3 packs of veg for £1.50 which includes carrots, onions and sprouts which I thought was a bit of a bargain as they’re around 1kg packs.

2014-12-06 19.26.52

Above – bunch of bananas, 6 wholemeal baps (each are 60g – HEB), 2 packs of strawberries, small box of clementines, celery, mushrooms, 2 packs of carrots, tomatoes, sprouts, red onions and green beans.

2014-12-06 19.29.55

Gherkin slices, fat free fromage frais, white wine vinegar, garlic granules and light Dairylea slices (2 are a HEA).

Total cost – was originally £19.19 with £1.57 in savings = £17.62

I think I’m thinking more about my meal plans and how many meals they can actually last me for. Also my OH has been on a cooking storm of his own and hasn’t been really eating with me (I think I only shared the beef stew with him last week) and I have a couple of meals planned which don’t really have much in the way of ingredients. Anyhow, my meal plan will be up tomorrow guys.

Until next time.. x

Slimming World – Morrisons Food Shopping (Using £5 off voucher!)

Hi guys,

Another food shopping blog from me. This week wasn’t as crazy as last though I’ve just realised I’ve forgotten something so may need to pop by again in a few days or so. So this week I just popped into Morrisons as there was a £5 off voucher off fresh fruit and veg in the Sun which I wanted to use. As I bought so much fruit and veg last week, I still have quite a bit left over – a melon, half of the punnet of strawberries, half of the clementines, half a pack of mushrooms, half a pack of sprouts, a pack of passion fruit, cheese and pears (there’s probably something I missed out!) so I just stuck to the staples.

2014-11-29 19.57.26

Fruit and veg: 2 packs of trimmed beans, a broccoli head, pack of mushrooms, 2 packs of new potatoes, pack of onions, celery, 2 packs of bananas and a bunch of bananas

2014-11-29 19.59.54

Fresh items: pack of turkey bacon, turkey ham, 10 eggs, pack of chicken legs (half for Saturday’s dinner and leftovers)

2014-11-29 20.02.49

Cupboard items: 3 tins of sweetcorn, 2 tins of tomatoes, tin of carrots, pickled beetroot, 2 packs of beef stockpots and a jar of sliced black olives

2014-11-29 20.05.23

Frozen items: garden peas and mini corn on the cob.

Cost – £21.43 (£26.43 before the voucher deduction) – average over 2 weeks = £87.28/2 = £43.64

This week was quite good money wise. My food diary for the week will be posted tomorrow 🙂

Until next time.. x
